On occasision it's important to reflect on life's progression and take an honest stock in where you're at.  Each new year is one such occasion.  Therefore, I take a moment to denote some of the the successes and failures of 2019.

As the ESA student section reminded me in in a email this year.... "Remember, success in an iceberg".  This is espeically relevant in science where successful results are published, but the mainly failures along the way are rarely acknlowledged.

Anyways, here my 2019 year in review tally:
  • 24 manuscript reviews
  • 6 manuscripts accepted (2 or which were first authored)
    • For those 2 first-authored publications, one was submitted to 5 journals before accptance, the other was submitted to 2 journals before accepted.
  • 3 research grants denied.
  • 1 research grant funded.

I share this for those who may need a bit of inspiration (including myself at times) to keep pushing toward your goals.   You can achieve what you choose you can achieve.  Dont let anything hold you back in 2020!  Blessings for the new year. ♠
